Slides Remote Terms of Use
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These terms cover the Slides Remote apps for Mac, Windows, iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS ("Slides Remote", "the app"), made by George Turner ("we", "us").
1. Which terms apply to you
Which licence you have depends on where you got the app:
- From Apple's App Store (Mac, iPhone, Apple Watch): your use of the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA").
- From the Microsoft Store (Windows): your use of the app is governed by Microsoft's Standard Application License Terms, part of the Microsoft Services Agreement.
- From Google Play (Android, Wear OS): Google Play has no standard licence for apps, so your use of the app is governed by these terms, together with the Google Play Terms of Service.
Sections 3 to 9 apply to everyone, but only as far as they don't conflict with the Standard EULA or the Standard Application License Terms if you got the app from the App Store or the Microsoft Store.
2. Your licence (Google Play)
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Android phones and Wear OS watches that you own or control, as Google Play allows. The app is licensed to you, not sold.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent the app, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows you to do so despite this restriction.
3. Notes & Timers and the free trial
Remote control is free. Notes and timers are an optional one-time purchase ("the unlock"), bought through the app store you got the app from, with no subscription.
- The free trial unlocks notes and timers for 7 days. It ends by itself; nothing is charged and nothing renews.
- Payment, refunds and restoring are handled by the app store, under its own terms. We can't see or change your payment details. See Support for each store's refund page.
- Sharing between your devices: an unlocked device shares notes and timers with the devices connected to it, as described in the app's help. Family Sharing works where the app store offers it.
4. Your content
Your presentations, notes and timer plans are yours. They're stored on your own devices, and we never receive them. See the Privacy Policy.
5. Using the app
Slides Remote changes slides by pressing keys for the presentation app that's in front on your computer (or by controlling PowerPoint directly on Windows). Check which app is in front before you present, and rehearse with the devices you'll use. Use the app lawfully and only on computers you're allowed to control.
6. No warranty
We work hard to make Slides Remote reliable, but it depends on your devices, your network, Bluetooth and other companies' apps, which we don't control. To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example a presentation that doesn't go to plan because a network or another app failed). Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the app and the unlock.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
8. Open-source software
The Android and Windows apps include open-source software, used under these licences:
- Bouncy Castle (Android and Windows): the Bouncy Castle licence (MIT-style).
- Kotlin standard library, kotlinx.coroutines and kotlinx.serialization (Android): Apache License 2.0.
- AndroidX and Jetpack Compose (Android): Apache License 2.0.
- Windows App SDK, CommunityToolkit.Mvvm and H.NotifyIcon (Windows): MIT License.
Google Play's Billing Library and Google Play services are provided by Google under the Android Software Development Kit License. The Apple apps use only Apple's own frameworks.
9. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, but if you live elsewhere you keep the protection of your own country's consumer laws.
